Boring…but if you could be a fly on the wall

I wish I could tell all the exciting projects that I’m working on and pitching and the insane budgets, but I believe I signed some non-disclosure form…

Let’s just say communities are HOT HOT HOT right now… pitching one of the largest financial institutions and a very large operating system…

I also got a new truck today. Peggy said that I needed a new truck because the baby can’t ride in the front seat of my Ford Ranger. I was looking at mid-size 4-door trucks (Nissan, Chevrolet, Dodge, Mitsubishi, Toyota).. Nissan and Toyota were the only ones that I could find with a long bed. The others have super short beds and a bike with the front wheel off is a tight fit and has to go diagonal, so fitting 2 in with a topper is tough. I was talking to the Dodge guy and he said with the incentives and rebates the 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 was cheaper then the 2008 Dakotas, since they redesigned the 2008s. Hmmmmm. Do I want a full-size truck? My College buddies would be so proud of me. They all have their big trucks for hunting and pulling boats and such. So I went in and looked at them and they were HUGE, but with the 4-doors and the 6’6″ truck bed it would solve all of my problems. The 4-doors and full size back seat solves the baby problem and the truck bed fits the bikes super easy as well as the dogs. As much as I’d like to not be a truck guy, I can’t seem to go the car route. I tried it with the roof rack and such and it didn’t work out. 2 dogs and bikes don’t fit the car lifestyle. This will be my 4th truck. The negotiation game started and they must be desperate to get rid of the 2007s cause I got a screaming deal. I had a deal inked and they found another one at a dealer closer with more options and I said, that’s great but I’m not spending more on it and they said OK…then they had a topper on a used truck in the lot and I said I want that thrown in as well.. Done deal. Of course the topper doesn’t match the color, but I’ll get it painted to match. So, now I’m driving this monster truck. At least it takes E85 and gets about the same MPG as the Ford Ranger. No Hemi… sorry guys. I don’t haul anything more then dogs and bikes.

nice dude. our explorer with rocket box and roof racks works, only b/c we have just 1 kid and 1 dog. But with the trainer, baby jogger, dog, extar wheels….it is a tight fit for sure.
cool pics, glad you’re representing Colorado well!
